Lazara Soto, Ms. Lili, began her career at ENA (Escuela Nacional de Artes ), Havana , Cuba, where she received a degree as a professional dancer and teacher in 1969. In 1970, she began her professional career at the prestigious Ballet of Camaguay directed by Joaquin Banegas and Fernando Alonso. After four years she then joined ISA (Instituto Superior de Artes) at the Ballet Nacional de Cuba. While traveling abroad, Mrs. Soto took part in seminars in Switzerland and Germany as well as performances in Bulgaria, Italy, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Mexico, Colombia, Uruguay and Venezuela.
In 1992, Mrs. Soto moved to Argentina, where she continued to teach, assist , choreograph and direct musicals and ballets and participate in the Festival Iberoamericano. In the year 2000 she came to the United States, bringing with her great experience and knowledge in her field, and began teaching in several locations in Miami. Currently, she is teaching at the Maria Verdeja School of the Arts where she is enriching the lives of students ranging from beginner to advance levels in classical ballet.
